Swansea FC: A brief history of the ultimate yo-yo team

By Jamie Rose

Swansea Football Club, since its inception in 1912, has experienced the sort of rise and slump extremities that lead one to assume they must, over the years, have been run on the basis of some strange rotation system exclusive to near-messianic legends and the clinically insane. Read More »

Consistent Allen crucial to Swans success

By Abigail Davies

Following Leon Britton’s departure at the end of the 2009-10 season, Joe Allen was drafted into the side to fill the void left by the diminutive midfielder.

Having come through the ranks at Swansea, the Welsh international indisputably relished his chance, instantly establishing himself in the side, as he enjoyed a run of games which saw him play a pivotal role in the heart of midfield during Swansea’s promotion winning campaign. Read More »

Preview: Swansea City v Manchester United

After securing a fantastic point at anfield with a brilliant performance, many would say whatever came next would be an easier affair. Long way to go as season reaches second checkpoint

By Douglas Elder

So, as the Premier League breaks for a fortnight, we are left with an interesting – if unfamiliar – picture at the top of the Barclay’s Premier League. From their opening three or four home games, Swansea, Norwich and QPR have managed to take points from most of these fixtures. Although they were well beaten 4-0 on the opening day by Bolton, QPR have picked themselves up and taken draws at home against a strong looking Villa team and a much improved Newcastle outfit. In addition, Norwich have steadily taken points from Carrow Road, only coming unstuck thus far against West Brom. On the other hand, Swansea have made the Liberty Stadium a true fortress, accumulating eight points and conceding no goals; the only newly promoted Barclays Premier League team to do so. Read More »
